But what are chemical peels?

Well, chemical peels are diluted chemical solutions which are applied on the designated areas to improve the overall characteristic of the face, neck or hands mainly. That does not mean that chemical peels cannot be applied on other body parts; it is just that face, neck and hands are the areas which are mostly treated using the peels.

These peels help in exfoliating the skin as well as result in the removal of dead skin, providing space for the new and fresh skin to grow.

Peel Types and Benefits

The most commonly used peels include Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) peels and Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) peels.

• People suffering from psoriasis, eczema or other such skin diseases or having skin burns or cuts
• People using Retin-A, Renova or have been advised against undertaking any skin
  lightening or acid-based treatments.
